USGE Scholarships

The USGE Scholarship Program offers two $2,500.00 Louise Pargeter National Scholarships.

Fittingly, these scholarships are named in remembrance of the Yellowknife parole officer tragically slain in October 2004 while attending a home visit of an offender.

The scholarships are available to the USGE member's spouse, partner, children and dependants. USGE members must be in good standing as of February 1st of the current year.

The scholarships are not restricted to first-year students. No more than one scholarship will be awarded to the same family in a given year and no applicant will be awarded a scholarship more than once.

The scholarships are awarded primarily based on the merit of the 800 word essay according to the essay topic determined for the given year. Preference will be given to applicants enrolling in the study of: psychology, criminology, sociology or social work.

Deadline for receipt of applications for the 2013 Louise Pargeter National Scholarships by the USGE National Office is 4:00 p.m. EST, Tuesday, February 1, 2013.
