Update for members looking to work at the Olympics
There has been much discussion as to the single occupancy standards not being met for members wishing to work at the Vancouver Olympics. USGE has received a decision from the PSAC which is the following:
"We view this as a unique and special situation, due to the huge demand for accommodation for this event, its scarcity, and the resulting double occupancy requirement at available Vancouver hotels. As such, PSAC will not interfere with any member who decides to agree to double occupancy for the Olympics. We will, however, support members who choose not to go and receive pressure from their employer."
As stated above, members wishing to work the events can now forgo the single occupancy requirement, if they so choose.
